Nursery pumps fields to get rid of water
Three water lines are being used to drain cedar fields operated by Budget Nursery north of Tuc-el-nuit Lake. The flooding caused by high flood plain and seepage. Okanagan River dyke sound as pictured. But there is a lot of water accumulating in ditches, culverts and low points.

Pump house submerged – home along river. Field, mostly dry, north end of Tuc-el-nuit Lake. Old oxbow filled with debris – near river. Homes and outbuildings constructed without a lot of protection against high water.
RCMP plane has difficult landing in Oliver
The aircraft belongs to the RCMP. It is a Piltaus PC-12NG out of Vancouver and was bringing two members to Oliver for a special project. Too much water in the flood plain hurts Oliver nursery
Parts of land owned or leased by Budget Nursery (George and Linda Demelo) north of Tuc-el-nuit lake is flooding and owners are sandbagging today. A report from CHBC indicates the Okanagan River dyke had been breached and water damaged a field of new cedar plants. It is doubtful that the river has overflowed the dyke. Pictures here show […]
Plane removed from tarmac
Multi seat passenger plane landed with difficulty last night about 8pm. RCMP called after reports of a crash. This due to the noise heard on landing. Engine may have seized. Cause unknown. (see earlier story) Aircraft mechanic called. Plane removed from main runway late last night and now sitting near clubhouse/terminal.
