Parts of land owned or leased by Budget Nursery (George and Linda Demelo) north of Tuc-el-nuit lake is flooding and owners are sandbagging today.
A report from CHBC indicates the Okanagan River dyke had been breached and water damaged a field of new cedar plants. It is doubtful that the river has overflowed the dyke.
Pictures here show all the land toward the river is not full of water. The area in question is near the road and a great distance from the river.
The land in question is very low and subject to flooding when ever the water table is high. This year the water table is very high and flooding is from seepage. The channelized river is doing a great job of controlling the water heading south.
