Pine trees cut to allow for show home
More victims to progress. When taking the pictures the smell of pine was everywhere. Opening the fence and taking out the trees will allow for a show home and selling centre for the condo units being proposed at the old “Cherry Grove” end of the Canyon Desert Resort area on 71st/Boundary Rd/Tuc-el-nuit Drive.
South Oliver traffic jam
Town of Oliver contractor had one long full day to complete a project on Highway 97 north of Deadman’s Lake. Mike Johnson Excavating Ltd. had to redo completely a road bed on either lane of the highway and then pave it all in one day with traffic flowing through it. Difficult but not impossible.

Island rescue
A swift water rescue crew was called into action north of Oliver on the Okanagan River Tuesday after seven young people from Quebec became trapped on an island amid a rapid watercourse almost overflowing.
