TED conferences invite leading thinkers and doers to speak, then their talks are made available at TED.com. TEDxOkanaganCollege will focus on actions to be taken to maintain the combined integrity of the environment, social structure and economic health in the Okanagan Valley and the world. 18 Speakers will give 18 minute talks to a select audience. Speakers include: Jeannette Armstrong, Director of En’owkin Centre on “Restoring Indigeneity to the Earth”, and Sandra Oldfield, winemaker at Tinhorn Creek Winery, on “Environmentally Friendly makes Good Business”. October 24-25 Wildlinks: coordinating across political borders to help species and habitats adapt to a changing climate. Wild Links is hosted by Conservation Northwest and partners to highlight issues and initiatives relevant to wildlife and climate change on landscapes crucial to maintaining wildlife connectivity in the ecoregions that overlap Washington State.
