BBQ causes Kelowna fire – no injuries but roof toasted

Fire north of Coverts – forestry planes called in
5pm Fire reported to Kelowna Dispatch – Probable cause lightening. Location about a half mile north of Coverts Farm – behind McIntrye Bluff. Near hydro transmissions lines. Area about 3 acres. Mainly smoke visible for miles. No large flames evident. Soil wet. Planes will douse before the dinner hour.
