Parks Manager Bob Grant shows exactly where the new Kiwanis Band Shell will sit in the park.
Earlier story:
The Oliver Kiwanis Club has been given the go ahead to build a Band-shell at the Community Park.
Larry Larson made a presentation Monday at the Society’s regular board meeting saying the club is willing to front the entire cost of a $70 thousand dollar facility. It has to be supplied electricity only and local contractors have agreed to help with site preparation. The surface will mainly be steel clad/stucco says Larson.
Mayor Ron Hovanes says it will be a real showpiece for the community. It will have a stage dimension of about 40 feet across and could be ready by spring 2013.
