Bob Grant, Manager of Oliver Parks and Recreation says he has applied for a large grant to cover the cost of upgrading the electrical connection to the Oliver Community Stage. This large grant would also fund the modifications to  the weight room.

About $28 thousand had to be okayed by the RDOS to pay a Fortis bill out of a Parks Reserve for the new power but Grant says he is very hopeful that money can be returned the the reserve if the application is successful.

The entire cost of the Stage was borne by the Oliver Kiwanis Club with contruction completed by Grant Beauclair.
