Southern Okanagan Secondary School has been established as a staging area for firefighters coming to fight both the Nk’Mip Creek wildfire and Thomas Creek wildfires.

Eighteen are currently on site from Parks Canada with 100-plus expected from outside of the province.

The Oliver airport is also advising that helicopters are now using the site and utilizing fuel resources in the area.
