Hi Jack, I’ve completed my term in Oliver. This provides an opportunity for another member to develop leadership skills. This member will already have strong leadership abilities, and be able to command in Oliver until a permanent Commander is put in place.

Gervais and his family was assigned to Oliver five years ago with an announcement April 27, 2015. His previous post was Prince George.

Earlier today Superintendent Brian Hunter of Penticton told RDOS directors –  “A final note was directed at the detachment in Oliver, which has been without a permanent commander in place. Hunter said optimistically, they will have one in place in eight months.

“If this was Brian Hunter Security Company we’d have them hired next week, but it’s not,” he said. “The RCMP is known a the big red machine sometimes, and the big red machine can sometimes move a little slow.”
