Update: Oliver Town Council to discuss delay in due dates for tax payments
To receive direction for the deferment of the property tax due date. Decision to be made Tuesday.
OPTIONS:
1. That property taxes be sent out in May with a due date of August 31, 2020 and
implement a 5% penalty of unpaid taxes on September 1 and a further 5% penalty on
unpaid taxes as of December 1st and that staff bring forward a revenue anticipation
bylaw for adoption.
2. That property taxes be sent out in May with a due date of September 30th, 2020 and
implement a 5% penalty of unpaid taxes on October 1 and a further 5% penalty on unpaid taxes
as of December 31 and that staff bring forward a revenue anticipation bylaw for adoption.
3. Do not change the tax due date from July 2, 2020 and a 10% penalty on unpaid taxes as of July 3.
