Dwarf Trees

Those who wish to grow a miniature version of a tree that is usually very large will use severe tactics. This includes planting the seed of the tree in a small pot, limiting the nourishment it gets and nipping buds that seek to make it grow bigger than desired. A watchful eye is kept on the tree so that it receives just enough care to keep it alive but not enough to reach the heights naturally intended for it.

That is not the way the Lord treats us. He wants us to reach full potential.

Unhealthy distractions in the world around us, our own bad inclinations and the enemy of our souls that will do this to us if we allow it. The seed may be planted in our minds but something has thwarted germination. We end up feeding on aspects of life that are not wholesome while fruitful and meaningful pursuits go nowhere. Trends that seem promising get cut off. What a shame!

But it doesn’t need to be that way. We were meant for much more. The Lord wants to give us life, life abundantly.

Let’s not fall short of that.
