Two locations that used to receive won’t for two different reasons:

Curt’s Auto is no more
Greg Horner’s Oliver Brake and Muffler has stopped the practice of accepting used oil

I have asked the RDOS for a list of locations that WILL accept used oil.

From the RDOS today:

“No changes at the Landfill in Oliver.

Our bylaws has a residential quantity limit of 20 litres per load per day to ensure we are not swamped. If there is a late collection and we are full we will direct customers to other depots in the Oliver area. I have heard from agricultural properties with 100 to 500 litres of used oil they have stored. They can contact the BC Used Oil Management Association for direct collection options.”

A number of inquiries on this subject – maybe someone out there has an answer.

In past years you could take this waste product to the dump or an auto dealer but not now it seems.

What is a person to do?
