I was born and raised here in Oliver. I attended trade school in Burnaby (BCVS) as a welder which led me into a career as a Boilermaker.
I worked my way up to the position of superintendent in the industrial construction industry (power generation and pulp and paper). I managed projects throughout Canada and the United States consisting of crews up to 600 personnel.
My work being transient gave me the opportunity to make my home here and also see first hand the effects of many different urban and rural planning models employed in different areas.
I hope to be able to employ these experiences and observations in supporting the farmers, small business people and residents of Area “C”.
Thanks to outgoing Director Terry Schafer for appointing me as his alternate – I have had four years of experience in the workings of the RDOS.
Rick Knodel
– only person to file papers so far – for this elected position.
