My name is Rachel Allenbrand and I have been your Oliver Elected Representative on the Board of Education representing the students and parents of Oliver as well as all the other students in SD53 for the last 4 years..
I am happy to announce that I am seeking re-election for this position. I believe that It is important that there is varied representation at the Board of Education table. I am a mother of 3 boys who are currently attending both elementary and high school in Oliver. My children all have unique learning styles so I have a true understanding of the many challenges that both students and parents face as they navigate the school system.
In the last four years I have learnt a lot about decision making at the district level and how decisions made at the board table impact students. Student success is our main priority and we are embarking on a new era of education around the globe. The use of technology in the classroom and the world is a reality and even so the impact on learning for students and families can be daunting at times.
It is our challenge and responsibility, as trustees, to support and provide teachers and staff with learning opportunities to navigate the new and innovative ways of learning and teaching in our schools. It is my belief that by providing both teachers and students with the support they need we will prepare them for the ever-changing world that we live in.
There are two seat available and two incumbents: Allenbrand and Rob Zandee
