A park without a name. A park without a design plan. Many options – now ( next three weeks ) the right time to get moving.
Ideas:
Get rid of the trailer
Clean up the area
Raise the level to a point between adjacent sidewalk and parking lot level of hotel
Ask the Hotel to get on with its plan of a walkway and gates on the east side of the facility to access the hike and bike path
Determine if any existing feature or plants/trees can remain. What should be removed?
Present options to the public at an open meeting before October 1st.
Make decisions that are wise – This is part of a long range plan to have all four corners at the BRIDGE in public hands for the use primarily of
Oliver residents and visitors – 365 days a year.
This morning I talked with PW Manager Shawn Goodsell and OPRS Parks Managher Carol Sheridan. Lets work together to make the community the pride of the South Okanagan.
Inventory – Rotary’s Bridge Park, Kiwanis Park, Old Stockers Field, Kinsmen Spray Park, Lion’s Park. All those added to Community Park,Triangle Park, Gala Park, Fairview Park, Rotary Beach and many more to come I hope. How about a neighbourhood park near Sunnybank. Or one south of Skagit in ALR territory with a walking bridge over canal so kids and parents can access from the Rockcliffe area.
