Rescue crews have saved a woman who fell into a – 50 foot deep – cave in the Skaha Bluffs recreational area.
First responders were called to the scene just before noon Monday
Penticton Search and Rescue (SAR) aided in assessing the woman’s condition.
“To see how she’s doing, keep her comfortable, make sure she doesn’t go into shock,” Penticton SAR manager Randy Brown said. “We knew there were some upper body injuries.”
Around 7 p.m., crews carried out a long line rescue before flying the woman out by helicopter to the staging area.
The fifty year female was taken to hospital by ambulance. Reports indicate the woman from the lower mainland was with a group of climbers. She is in stable condition with head and upper body injuries.
