Shed

A shed is a simple building or sometimes just a roof, where we can store yard equipment, maybe the bicycles and tools. Australia and New Zealand are shed people, in that they use them as a place to meet socially and to be in a personal space, like a den. There is even an Australian men’s shed Association. Who knew? In England a place to make up garden pots is a common use for a shed. Do you have a shed?

To shed a tear is to have it fall. Maybe it is more like to release it, as in allowing a tear to fall. Yes, sometimes we hold back, don’t want to be seen to be shedding tears. I can shed the cattle by bhing is, at the time the new under skin/skeleton is not very thick or protective so the snake and the lobster need to hide a while as the new protection grows stronger. Hmmm? So, when we shed a tear are we for a short time a bit more vulnerable and might need some time alone to regroup, gain back our thick skin?

Sometimes I want to shed an unhelpful belief. I have learned to actually do that. The steps seem to be to notice that I have a belief that is not serving. I need to look at my actions, notice that I am not getting the results I want and to backtrack to the belief that is driving those actions. Now I know what needs to be shed. From there it is like for the snake, build the replacement and then relentlessly shed, ahhhhhhh

To shed some light on something is to make it easier to understand. To shed an attachment to  some kind of ‘should’ or ‘have to’ or ‘can’t’ is to find a wonderful freedom to just be myself. Trying to be someone else is hard and thankless work. Shed that idea because first of all everyone else is already here and second, we need you, unvarnished, just plain ol’ you, as is. Shed all but your true selfuilding a barn. So too with the hay all rolled up as we see in the fields. A watershed is the line that divides adjacent water basins, in that the water drains away from, sheds, that line. It can also be where surface water converges

A snake sheds old skins as it grows bigger. So too a lobster sheds its exoskeleton as it grows.
