Misdirected Compliments
A group of friends had gathered in a home for an evening of fun, food and fellowship. One person in the group was a photographer who took great pains to produce good work. As the pictures were being admired while they were passed around, the hostess remarked, “These are really good. You must have a very expensive camera.”
The photographer did not say anything in response. After the meal was over, the hostess was being rightfully complimented for the delicious feast she had prepared. The photographer couldn’t resist the comment, “That meal was really great. You must have an expensive set of pots and pans.”
Not everything we say comes across to the recipient with the meaning we had intended. Psa_19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD”…
It’s hard to always think before we speak,
