Experts might say the atmosphere is saturated with smoke from all over and is causing its own weather patterns. Here is the local fire map showing large fires to the west of us in the Similkameen. The south Okanagan looks pretty good at the moment. One commentary was that smoke lowers the heat and stops lightening.  If you are having trouble breathing reduce exposure to the outside air and do not exert yourself.
