Tomorrow is the last Back Alley Concert of the 2018 Series! It’s going to be a superb show with “Floyd Meets Brown,” featuring Leila Neverland. We encourage folks to come in as early as possible to purchase their tickets before the rush, downstairs at the Beer Shop & Social below the “Old Firehall” on Main Street. The concert takes place just off the Beer Shop & Social’s patio, along “Brewery Alley” under colourful shade sails and a summer twilight sky.
“Floyd Meets Brown meets Leila Neverland”: an epic wild funky orgasmic mash-up to smash our minds and treat our ears. Leila of Mountain Sound “experiments with mind-numbing rhythms and a vocal range capable of grabbing even the most mundane of auditory palette” (quoting J Smith of Kelowna Capital News). Add her to Floyd Meets Brown, a psychedelic funk rock band playing with high energy and pure intent, that is making its mark as one of BC’s premier funk bands. This is going to be a real treat, and we expect a great turn out, with people coming far and wide to see this rare merger. Our featured wine for the night will be Maverick Estate Winery, our featured cider will be Dominion Cider Co, our featured spirits will be from The Dubh Glas Distillery, and our artist in-house for the evening will be Katherine MacNeill. We’ll also have the Vagabond Kitchen foodtruck on-site for delicious meals and snacks as well.
Gates open at 6pm; music runs from 7-9pm; Bring-Your-Own-Chair; kids under 15 are free; and we do have debit/credit for gate tickets and drink tickets; and please always plan a sober ride home. The dancing area is, uniquely, a bit off to the side, in clear view of the band but not directly in front of the crowd, so you don’t need to feel the pressure of everyone’s eyes on your swinging hips. That being said, no one’s judging, this is a grassroots, family-friendly, casual Alley Party, driven by and supported by community. Our holy crew of Volunteers is what allows this community-oriented event to remain affordable, thank you volunteers!
