On August 1st, 2018 Oliver RCMP located and arrested local resident Tyler Newton after conducting a curfew check on his residence the previous evening and finding him not at home. During the arrest police located a weapon on Newton which also put him in Breach of his Recognizance.

Through further investigation evidence was also obtained tying Newton to a theft from the Oliver area.

Tyler Newton has been charged with the following offences:

Fail to Comply with a condition of an Undertaking or Recognizance x2 and Theft Under $5000.

36 year old Tyler Winston Thomas Newton is familiar to police. Will appear again August 8th in a Penticton courtroom. In custody.
