Penticton Mayor Andrew Jakubeit told the RDOS board Thursday “We can shift marijuana production to the industrial areas, which have been underused. Let’s try to get to a trend that’s growing and capitalize on it like we’ve capitalized on wine.”
The Agricultural Land Commission allows cannabis production on farmland – deeming marijuana as a crop.
A large plan is contemplated on OIB land at the Senkulmen Industrial Park. That particular facility is being built by Sunniva Inc.
