Long overdue move, Brian Highley will steer the ship at the Oliver Chronicle. Titled Publisher – he will continue his present duties with Aberdeen Publishing doing specialized advertising projects.
Editor Lyonel Doherty continues writing and putting the paper together and says more news is coming but with larger fonts – it will take more pages to print the items mentioned.
The paper is now FREE – it’s a red letter day. Many changes to the Chronicle – Wally Smith, Don Somerville, Michael Newman – Publishers who lived here – replaced by a corporation in the print and ink field – Aberdeen Publishing (Robert W. Doull)
ODN has been on the “ether” for 8 years and has always been free and in colour with no ink.
All the best to the Chronicle – ODN will continue to keep the newspapers in the region scrambling as we have all the space in the world to print news and information.
AND thanks to many-many advertisers over the years that have helped support that cause.
