The owner of an average home in Osoyoos faces a tax bill increase of $131 this year for municipal services.
An single family home assessed at $409,633 for 2018 will see increases in nearly every aspect of the tax bill. The total for the year will be $1,661 compared to $1,530 last year, an increase of 2.93 per cent.
The main areas of increase are: municipal taxes up $32; policing up $37; and fire hall debt up $36. Sewer, water and garbage services saw small increases. Only fire protection went down, by $1.43.
Council gave three readings to the final budget bylaw on Monday. There will be public consultation in late April and early May and the final tax bylaw will be adopted by May 15.
