The Oliver RCMP responded to the following calls for service: Assaults, Motor Vehicle Incidents, Mental Health Act complaints, Threats, Suspicious Occurrences, Break and Enter, Missing Persons, Drunk in Public, Abandoned 911 calls and Sudden Deaths.
Investigations of Note:
February 26th Break and Enter to a Residence – TV and Ford Ranger stolen
February 26th Break and Enter to a Residence – Silverwear set stolen
February 27th Break and Enter to a Garage – Tools and Bicycle stolen
Oliver members responded to a theft in progress involving a stolen ATV. The complaint was able to provide excellent information to police which assisted members in tracking down the stolen ATV to a property in Oliver. Members successfully located the ATV along with a stolen vehicle and a number of stolen tools hidden on the property.
Over the last day Oliver RCMP responded to a number of reports of overdue travellers who were known to travel on the Fairview/Cawston Road. With the assistance of Keremeos RCMP, one traveller was located, stranded after the vehicle they were driving got stuck in the snow. The second traveller, who was also stuck in the snow, was located by Argo as they were attempting to clear the road. We would like to remind everyone that this can be a dangerous roadway to drive on during the winter months and that for everyone’s safety it is better to stay on the main highways.
Oliver RCMP had the opportunity to visit both Oliver Elementary and Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary School on February 28th for Pink Shirt Day. It was a great opportunity to interact with the students in a positive way and create relationships within the school and we were able to watch an amazing Talent show put on by the students at Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary. Great job by all!
