  1. Osoyoos had appealed to the Census Bureau on the 5000 population figure that triggers increased costs to the Town. The number came down a bit but not enough. Motion to sign RCMP policing contract – staffing and other costs to move from $376T to $953,000 for six town officers – there would be additional 3 officers for rural duty not paid for by Town. Passed
  2. Should the time of meetings be changed in Osoyoos? After two defeated motions – council decided on a third motion about regular Town meetings: “Wait until new council elected in October and let them decide” Passed.
  3. Motions defeated: poll the citizens on what they want, ask other councils in BC on their procedures with regard to meetings.
  4. Road closure at Osoyoos Airport (south end) Motion: to close road and communicate to the Crown – owner of land. Why? not used as a road and needed for airport use. Passed
  5. Boat/Trailer Park – E/Osoyoos: New operating systems to be installed including a ticket system with two machines. Passed
  6. Pre Budget approvals: Town of Osoyoos office roof – front entrance: $25,000 cost to fix. Passed
  7. Scanner/Photocopier: pre budget approval needed for new equipment that can scan into computer system – $7,000. Passed
  8. Acting Mayor Appointments: Quick switch of who is Acting Mayor in March and April:
  9. Osoyoos Secondary School –  Post-Secondary Bursaries – $1000 – 3 of them for a total outlay of $3 thousand (covered by grant in aid budget). This would cover the next three years.  Passed
  10. Financial Assistance from Council: Council Campol left the meeting due to a perceived conflict.
  11. Pics and Sticks – $25000 request for event in Penticton-Oliver-Spirit Ridge – Event will get  support from Destination Osoyoos. Denied further financial involvement from Town.
  12. Osoyoos Gift Cupboard – $2000 per year request. Passed
  13. Osoyoos Museum Society – request increase of funding to $56000. Passed
  14. Jane Slater – request – sidewalk project $110 thousand from Smities to Peanut Pond – decision for which budget year to pay. Delayed for a year at least.
  15. Kenton Gilchrist request for funding videos on economic development – Request for $ 5 thousand Denied
  16.  Roof on Town Hall north of old fire-hall roof: $40T budget requested. Passed
