Town of Oliver – council has approved a one year term extension (2018) for the present Fire Chief Bob Graham.
Mayor Ron Hovanes told council and Eastlink Cable community live Monday that the staff will be conducting a review of just how the local fire department is administered and the role that council should play in selecting and hiring a Chief.
That review would include a code of conduct for all members and set out assistance for firefighter training.
An election for chief was scheduled for this Thursday. A meeting is scheduled for today for further discussions on this issue.
