Interior Health nurses attended SOSS to immunize students against Meningococcal Disease, otherwise known as Meningitis. Two cases were confirmed, with others being currently tested.
Interior Health gave shots at SOSS from Friday November 10th until Tuesday November 14th, in hopes of preventing the spread of this disease.

What is meningococcal meningitis caused by?
Bacteria and viruses are the two main causes of meningitis. The bacterium Neisseria meningitidis, also called meningococcus, causes meningococcal meningitis.
