The Movember campaign at the Firehall Brewery.
According the Wikipedia, Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness for men’s health issues, most notably prostate and testicular cancer, but also depression and suicide.
Our brewery has launched a Movember Awareness-and-Fund-Raising Campaign officially through the Movember Canada Foundation (ca.movember.com).
The campaign will wrap up (or, perhaps, “twirl up”) with a Moustache Competition during our Movember Campaign Twirl-Up and Stache-Off Comp at the Beer Shop & Social on Wednesday, November 29th. Anyone can join our campaign by signing up and/or donating donate electronically through a secure online transaction on our official Movember Page (moteam.co/firehall-brewery), and/or attending the party at the end of the month. For those who want to grow a moustache, they can do so with us and have it judged in the “Stache-Off Comp” moustache competition. And those who won’t be growing a moustache, they can consider volunteering as a Judge for the competition (sign up by email info@firehallbrewery.com or Facebook “Firehall Brewery”).
At the party we’ll also have live music, a Virtual Reality booth, and a cocktail special by Stevely of Dubh Glas Distillery. And the Virtual Reality (VR) booth will be hosted by Carl and Oscar of ViewIT-3D, who will be donating a portion of the VR Experience fee to the Movember cause, along with the rest of the campaign funds which will be submitted and publicly reported on our Movember Canada website profile (moteam.co/firehall-brewery). The Movember Canada Foundation website (ca.movember.com) is worth visiting to read more about the Movember rules, concept, and Men’s Health information.
