A wildfire, visible from Keremeos, BC, poses no immediate threat to private property, structures or infrastructure. The fire is located at the top of iconic K Mountain. The BC Wildfire Service is monitoring the blaze. How it was started has not been determined. The K Mountain Fire is not related to the Diamond Creek Wildfire which is active over 35 km away on the far side of Cathedral Provincial Park.

People are advised to stay well away from the K Mountain upland area while the wildfire is active. No Evacuation Alerts or Orders are associated with this fire at this time. The is about 7 hectares in size and extra resources called in to assist.
