A 37-year-old Mexican man is dead after he drowned Tuesday in Tuc-el-Nuit Lake in Oliver.
Police were called to the lake at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday – for a report of a deceased male in the water.
“To date the investigation has confirmed that the 37-year-old man was seen entering the water while swimming earlier that day, however was not noted as missing until later that day,” Oliver RCMP Sgt. Blaine Gervais said in a press release.
The man’s body was recovered from the lake and his death is not considered suspicious.
Police have turned over the investigation to the BC Coroners Service.
The incident occurred at the north end of Rotary Beach.
