Evacuation Order Lifted in Kaleden But Advisory Evacuation Alert Still in Effect
The Evacuation Order for properties in Kaleden has been rescinded but an advisory Evacuation Alert remains in effect for 186 properties. The fire is presently being fought by the Kaleden Fire Department with support from the BC Wildfire Service. At this time, 234 individuals have registered with Emergency Social Services from the Kaleden area.
Due to hot spots remaining in the area, 186 properties are still placed under advisory Evacuation Alert. The advisory Evacuation Alert comprises the entire southern half of Kaleden. Residents and guests in the advisory Evacuation Alert area should remain at their properties but should be prepared to evacuate as required. Residents in the advisory Alert area are asked to limit the amount of vehicles they use to reduce congestion in the area.
Non-residents should stay away from the south end of Kaleden. Vehicles parked along road ways can delay first responders that are fighting the fire.
