The Penticton RCMP have released more details on Thursday morning’s incident.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Carmi Ave. shortly after midnight for a report of a domestic situation where a firearm had been discharged.

A woman exited the property safely and attempts were made to contact the male inside.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team was called in to secure the area, and just before 6 a.m., police arrested the male. Nobody was harmed during the incident.

The crime scene remains behind police tape, pending the execution of a search warrant. A 49-year-old Penticton man is in custody waiting to appear in court
