Evacuation of Properties along Mill Rd in Naramata

A State of Local Emergency has been declared and an Evacuation Order has been issued for 11 properties in the northern part of Mill Rd. in Naramata BC. Okanagan Lake has risen high enough to erode Mill Rd which is the only road access to the affected properties. This has increased the potential danger to life and health, and property damage for the properties listed below. Naramata Fire Department has been dispatched to the area.

Please report as soon as possible to the RDOS Emergency Operations Reception Centre located at the RDOS Office: 101 Martin St., Penticton, BC. Any affected residents, staying with family or friends, are asked to register as soon as possible by calling the RDOS Emergency Support Services at 250-809-6561 or 1-877-611-3737. For after-hours emergencies, please call the Provincial Emergency Program at 1-800-663-3456.
Residents are asked to shut off all gas and electrical appliances other than freezers and refrigerators. Gates should be closed but not locked. Residents should gather family members and critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, keys) only if immediately available. Take pets in kennels or on leash.
