Excavators using night lights continue to work on Tinhorn Creek to direct it back to its natural course even though the volume of water has increased in the last couple of weeks as snow melts high in the hills.
The creek jumped its banks earlier today causing localized flooding and a lot of mud spilling into the “historic” ditch that feeds clean water to farmers. The contractors working the creek know how to divert the water back to a “water bridge” that crosses the ditch to the south of Road 7.
Fireman have mainly played the role of informing nearby residents of the situation and to ensure traffic does not go near the scene of the flooding.
