Mayor Igarashi and a delegation from our Sister City Bandai, Japan, recently visited Oliver on a business trip. The delegation consisted of directors and managers of Tokuitsu no Sato Kirari roadside rest area. The rest area consists of an organic market, gift shop, restaurant and gas pumps. This rest area receives hundreds of thousand visitors annually and they were here as to investigate importing wines and local product from the Oliver area for their business. The Oliver Tourism Association hosted the delegates and escorted them to Road 13 Vineyards & Winery, Burrowing Owl Vineyards, Tinhorn Creek Winery and Hester Creek Winery. They said it was a “successful trip” and their goal is to have our local wines and local products in their gift shop this summer.
