Penticton councillor to run for NDP

sayeed-twoPenticton city councillor Tarik Sayeed will run in the May 9 provincial election for the New Democrats

Sayeed was named the NDP candidate for the provincial riding (Penticton-Summerland-Peachland)

Sayeed was up against Summerland Councillor Toni Boot for the position.

Both nominees just elected as municipal councillors in 2014.

“I feel humbled by the tremendous amount of support from the citizens of our constituency,” he said after the results were read. ”

Sayeed will run against former Mayor of Penticton Dan Ashton, the Liberal party incumbent.
