Town Oliver Budget deliberations Tuesday

Oliver Sewer Utility
5.16 % increase on a base budget of $956,808
Main capital projects – de-sludging sewer lagoons at Topping Lake and installation of a Solar Array to relieve the cost of pumping power. In both instances grants are applied for to pay most of the cost. Council determined that the de-sludging project is long overdue and will be done in 2017-18 once all technical issues are confirmed with or without a grant.

Oliver Water Utility
two separate increases:
3% canal replacement/siphon reserve and a
3.41% operating increase
on a base budget of $2,736,069
Main capital projects canal rehabilitation and the Gallagher Lake siphon fix
Council will look at rates, parcel tax increases in a separate meeting at the call of the chair to effect the changes in time for a January 1st, 2017 billing.
