– More and more directors of the Regional District are using the AAP ( Alternative Approval Process ) to get voter assent to pay for ideas and projects:
Last Thursday directors informed that only 2 persons out of a potential base of nearly 16,000 opposed the installation of a new bus service ( South Okanagan Transit System ) with a bus from Osoyoos to Penticton now funded by partners from the border to Kaleden. Boundaries include Town of Oliver, Town of Osoyoos along with rural areas A, C, and D. The maximum requisition will be $75 thousand. Oliver to pay 20 percent of the cost, Area C Oliver to pay 16 percent of the cost. Osoyoos rural and town 49%.

– Loose Bay Campground Service with the annual limit to funding $20 thousand from Area C property owners. At least 306 electors must say no before a referendum would be held. The deadline for response is January 6, 2017
