Hopes of winning a provincial volleyball championship at Southern Okanagan Secondary School have been dashed.
The Hornets hosted the Valley Boys AA Championship this past weekend in the SOSS Main Gym.
After winning a pair of matches, the Hornets fell to top-ranked Fulton in the Semifinal.
That relegated SOSS to a Bronze medal match Saturday afternoon.
A victory, and the Hornets would still advance to the provincials in Langley.
Unfortunately, the Hornets couldn’t get past Seaton, losing in four sets.
“We had a good lead in the fourth set but couldn’t quite put it away to force the fifth tie breaker,” said head coach Steve Podmorow. “I’m proud of the kids for their work over the season. And I feel bad that they won’t get the opportunity to experience the provincial championships.”
The community congratulates the Hornets on hosting a successful Valley Championship, and for the outstanding season.
