A trailer was destroyed in a fire that broke out on Nk’Mip Road on the Osoyoos Indian Band reserve, Tuesday evening.
Rob Graham, spokesman for the Oliver Fire Department, said Oliver and Osoyoos firefighters were called out at 5 :10 p.m. to a structure fire, initially thought to be near The Cottages on Osoyoos Lake.
It turned out to not be in the Osoyoos jurisdiction.
By the time Oliver firefighters arrived on scene the trailer located at a makeshift camp was fairly damaged.
There was no one in the trailer at the time of the fire.
Graham described the blaze as suspicious. The cause is undetermined.
