Two weekend wins – and the Osoyoos Coyotes are once again feeling good about themselves.

The victories, over Division rivals Kelowna and Princeton, couldn’t have come at a better time for the Coyotes, considering their back-to-back losses the week prior.

Osoyoos players, after taking part in the Remembrance Day Service Friday morning at the Sonora Community Centre, travelled up to Kelowna and beat the Chiefs 2-1. Carter Shannon scored the winning goal 3:46 into overtime.

After Kelowna took a 1-0 second period lead, Ryan Roseboom tied the game in the third period, setting the stage for Shannon’s OT winner.

Adam Jones stopped 28 of 29 shots directed his way for the win, and was named the Game Star.

Returning home Saturday, the Coyotes were fired up. That translated into 55 shots on the Princeton net, and a 4-1 victory in front of 371 fans at Sun Bowl Arena.

Sam Reinbolt, Hunter Johnson, Judd Repole and Daniel Stone all scored for the Coyotes, who electrified the home crowd with 21 first-period shots on net.

Liam Aitken stopped 32 of 33 shots for the win in net.

Osoyoos was two for five with the man advantange.

The Coyotes are now 13-5, good for 26 points, and second place in the Okanangan Division, four behind Summerland with three games in hand, and two ahead of Kelowna with one game in hand.

The Coyotes host the North Okanagan Knights Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
