A transport truck caught fire causing Highway 97 from White Lake Road to Okanagan Falls to be shut down.

The truck was driving south on Waterman’s Hill, hit a barrier and caught fire.

Traffic was being re-routed to Eastside Road and RCMP said they expect Highway 97 to be closed for some time yet.

Alternating traffic pattern now in effect.
