Traffic diverted off Hwy 97 – north of OK Falls

A semi pulling a trailer flipped over and caught fire on Highway 97 near Okanagan Falls Monday night.

About 7:30 p.m., the semi was heading south down Waterman’s Hill heading into OK Falls when it flipped over and slid across the northbound lanes.

Traffic diverted to east side road most of the evening Monday.

One person taken to hospital. One report of fuel running down the hill.

Police, OK Falls Fire Department attended.

Drive BC notice: Vehicle Incident

Highway 97 Both directions – Closed in both directions south of Junction with Highway 3A to Junction with Highway 3A (1 km) because of Vehicle Incident. Detour via White Lake Road for southbound traffic, via Eastside Road for northbound. Estimated time of opening is 12:00 am midnight November 8, 2016.
