Southern Okanagan Secondary School has recorded its first victory at the BC High School Girls Field Hockey Championship, being played in Surrey.
After opening with a 2-2 draw against Brentwood, then falling 5-0 to top-seeded Crofton House, the Hornets hit the turf Thursday morning looking for theirĀ first victory – and got it.
SOSS recorded a 1-0 shutout of Chilliwack’s G.W. Graham school, evening its record at a win, a loss and a tie.
G.W. Graham finished the round robin with three losses.
SOSS is expected back on the field later this afternoon to participate in its first playoff game.
The Hornets entered Provincials ranked seventh of the 12 teams participating.
