
Fire dispatch 1:03 pm – Okanagan Falls – fire in a home in 1000 block of Birch – just south of 10th
Residents escaped without injury. Firefighters used foam and water to control the blaze with most of the visible damage on the roof line.
Amy Peregoodoff and her husband Mac, both in their 80’s, lived in the house that burned in Okanagan Falls Friday afternoon.
“We were having a gas fireplace installed – a cutting torch was being used to cut some steel and the chimney insulation caught on fire,” Amy said.

One report said: “saw the semi-truck stuck in the ditch around 1 pm Friday. Looked like truck was heading south on the highway and made a tight right turn on to River Rd. The backend of the trailer was in the ditch”.
