Linda Larson said more money must be spent to clean up the lake as it is valuable for recreation, camping, vacationing and for its natural setting. She mentioned that the Okanagan Basin Water Board has in the past cut or mowed the milfoil so that is not easy to see.
I actually don’t remember a time when this was done. The OBWB often says it needs excellent access to get into smaller lakes. It primarily works on the north end of Osoyoos Lake.
Much of the money to do this comes from Regional Districts/Municipalities. An infusion of provincial government money is needed as the problem is getting out of hand.
