All that dust, all that rock crushing – it will be worth it.

Paving Schedule: August 2016
After breaking ground December 2015 and commencing earthworks February 2016, it’s finally here: our paving schedule.
Those chilly days of winter might seem like a distant memory but in reality we only began this enormous undertaking just over five months ago. That’s not a long time in which to construct a 4.83km / 3mi FIA-quality road circuit from raw land. We’re so very fortunate to have skilled professionals lead the way from start to finish: co-founder and designer Jacques Villeneuve, with co-founder and engineer/builder Trevor Seibert. Without this insider driver knowledge and pro experience we wouldn’t have what is destined to be one of the preeminent circuits in western Canada.
The Paving Schedule
With using hot joint paving techniques and a custom asphalt blend to withstand temperature extremes while providing a seamless driving experience, coordinating our paving schedule is equal parts patience and skill. The Lake Excavating crew has teamed up with local contractor and surfacing experts Peters Bros Construction to ensure our track asphalt is top of the line.
•August: on-site set up of asphalt plant
•August 15: surface treatment pre-paving
•August 17-20: multi-paver asphalt application
•(one week later): surface testing
•mid-September (date TBA): first hot laps with founders and founding members
•mid-September through end of October: members driving academy access
Next Steps
Once paving is complete, this autumn is all about testing the track with the priority focused on founders, founding members, and member access to the driving academy to ensure everyone has the required driver training for track access. With hundreds of members, it’s important we put safety first.
Stay tuned for more information about our grand opening scheduled for spring 2017.
