It was August 13 – two years ago ODN reported Osoyoos Sgt. Kevin Schur was about to move on – up the ladder to a training position.
Today we report this local man, former Sgt. in Oliver and Osoyoos is being sent to the Albert Division of the RCMP, promoted to rank of Inspector effective August 31, working on internal projects within the Human Resources department.
A change of pace from years and years of General Duty supervision in the Okanagan.
Here is that earlier story in brief:
“Soon, Sgt. Kevin Schur will move his Oliver family to Penticton and take his work to Kelowna.
Schur will do something rare but maybe not unique – train his superiors in leadership skills.
Under the auspices of the National Performance Programme, Sgt. Schur will become a Leadership Coordinator teaching in Chilliwack (training institute) and Kelowna.
Schur has been in the South Okanagan 9 years serving first in Oliver, the Border Enforcement Team and then Osoyoos detachment.”
Schur and his family will retain a home in Penticton as his children are still young and his wife works as a teacher in Oliver.
Congratulations to Inspector Kevin Schur.
