49 year old Steve Joseph Adilard Godbout of Oliver charged April 6 with numerous offences for incidents in 2015 and 2016 in the South Okanagan.
He was charged with break-and-enter Saturday March 19 and possession of stolen property under $5,000 – the incident involved the Telus Town on Oliver Mountain. He was not charged with bringing the tower down 2 days earlier.
Godbout of no fixed address was also convicted recently of another charge in connection with a separate incident involving an arson fire October 26 2015 in the Industrial Park area of Oliver.
Godbout is scheduled to appear again in court August 24 on the last charge.
He was found guilty of the incidents involving the Telus Tower on Wednesday at the Penticton Courts and sentenced to a term of no more than 549 days – two years less time served. An order was made for restitution of over $16 thousand.
